Best donuts in Fla! So happy to see them in this area! Lots closer. Still a drive for me but worth it! Donuts are much bigger than Dunkin. Fresher than Publix.

Absolutely love the place! Everything is fresh and they actually listen to the customers. They took away the toasted coconut and I said something and I guess a few others did too and the next time I went back it was there. they're about 2 times the size of a dunkin donut and have about every type of donut you can think of. Big. Thick. Fluffy. The people who work there are also super patient and friendly when you can't decide on which one because you want all of them!!!

Another place I've been waiting to try and finally took the plunge. A little far out there for us, this place is off the main drag. Tucked into a shopping center next to a dog grooming place the King is very unassuming. Stepping inside, you remember why you came. Just look at those donuts! So many flavors and sizes. We had to get a dozen to go when we had only planned on one. A dozen of mixed flavor donuts of our choice and a chocolate milk to split was around ten dollars. The day we got out here was a little later in the afternoon maybe around 1. Donuts were good but did not taste as fresh as they had once been. Blame time and Florida humidity. Still good, all the same. We had some maple bacon, sour patch, glazed, boston creme, chocolate iced, and fruity pebbles. Pretty tasty. Staff was friendly enough and filled our order quickly. Dine in area is nothing special but will do if you need to scarf a few do-dos before you hit the road back home to bask in your sugar coma.

They have everything. Huge selection of donuts and pastries. Also they sell mini burgers and some cajun items like jambalaya and beignets.

Oh ah ummm, so many donuts! Grabbed a half dozen on a Sunday afternoon to fix up my donut craving. The guava filled was my favorite! I tried the key lime pie, frosted red velvet, apple filled, guava filled, maple bacon, and nutter butter. I've not sampled then all yet, but love the texture of the dough, it's like a traditional yeast dough but very light and wonderful flavor. Not too sweet. The assortment of donuts here is dizzying. The back wall has a beautiful assortment for when you need a dozen or half dozen. The front case has more specialized items that can be purchased at individual prices. The also sell burgers here, crazy right?! The line was sort of long and the casher was quick to assist. Can't wait to go back and try more, but have to pace myself. Was all over the fruity pebbles donut and the double chocolate cake, but next time. This is fun place to get a donut and there are so many favors to try.

Finally was able to make it out here after wanting to try them for a while. I brought my 3 yr old son with me who was more then thrilled to pick out some donuts. After a drive home and him carefully holding the box with on a few peaks in between the donuts were definitely worth the drive and wait! Love that they have all the regular donuts & speciality as well, we will definitely be back!

Heaven in a strip mall. I have been to the other Donut King in Clermont and wanted to try out the one closer to me. Thankfully I was able to visit in the middle of the day during the week, when the line wasn't out the door and around the corner. The worst part about this place is really trying to make a choice on which to get. The girl serving us was quick and had a good memory so we could spew off our order. I've eaten 2 out of my half dozen so far and am trying to resist the rest until later!

Upon driving by... this plaza I pass all the time... I thought "It's there!?". I always heard and saw pictures of Donut King and thought it would be alot different for some reason. Walking up I was a bit nervous as it didn't look like much. When we stopped by most of the donuts were cleared out (they were refilling them as we were there). It was a bit confusing at first as I wanted a egg and cheese on a donut and I knew they did them as I have seen pictures but didn't see this item on the menu....... It was on a paper on the wall. Which was okay, just a bit akward. I ordered a egg and cheese on a cronut. It was super delicious and there was a generous amount of egg on the sandwich. On my second visit I ordered a cronut alone (So yummy!) and I tried a chocolate cake type donut. This was very good as well. I will need to visit again soon for another sandwich, that was really good!

Thanks to a great coworker Chris Tardiffffffff I was introduced to this place. He brought in a dozen for us to sample and I was hooked. The fruity pebble is my favorite so far. The blue berry cake is also very yumm.

After trying Donut King, other donuts just aren't good enough for me. The great thing about the shop is that there's always something new to try. Last time, I tried a peanut butter cream long john. This time, there was a maple bacon donut. If you're looking for more traditional fare, fear not; they've got jellies, fritters, and plain ol' glazed donuts to scratch your sugar itch. I HIGHLY recommend the apple fritters. They're about the size of my head and outrageously good.

  • Nancee M.

The only thing this Donut king location has going for it is the donuts and that it's a newer location. The customer service was terrible. We were the only customers in the shop and you would have thought they had a line out the door the way the girl behind the counter was treating us. My friend had never been and so the choices are a bit over whelming and instead of putting our multiple donut purchase in a flat box she bagged them up in a small bag. I think in the future I will drive the extra miles out to Mineola.

The only time I went to this place was on National Donut Day. I heard great reviews for this little shop and decided to try it out. Since it was National Donut Day, I was expecting a lot of sold out flavors, but I was wrong. They still had a lot of different flavors, and they were very busy. I was really excited to try them because looking at all the different and unique flavors they had made me salivate. After ordering my dozen, I tried all of them. They tasted incredible and fresh. My favorite one that I tried would have to be he Cookies & Cream and the Maple Bacon Donuts. It reminded me of my favorite gourmet donut shop back in Miami. I would definitely recommend this little shop for all you donut lovers and those with sweet-tooth. Even though the location and the appearance of the shop looks a little depressing, the donuts will make you a happy camper after you take your first bite.

I thought my friends told me to check out Donut King. They actually suggested Bagel King, but I am oh so happy I messed that one up. Donut King is awesome! The customer service was great. I chatted with a girl about Heroes. How cool is that? Of course, I had no clue what I wanted. So many options! Both employees suggested items and were very patient with me. I ended up choosing (there were two of us) a Maple Bacon donut, three filled donuts: jelly, lemon, and blueberry, an iced coffee, and a hot dog croissant. For $8. What?! And everything was really good...I'm actually still eating it right now. The donuts are pretty big too. I will definitely be back to Donut King. Every day. What's a diet?

I love this place. Admittedly some of the flavors are a bit gimmicky (I'm looking at you sour patch kids doughnut), there is a legitimate amount of variety to satisfy even the most picky or adventurous. I don't frequent a lot of other doughnut shops but so I can't comment on cost versus say a DD but the prices are quite cheap compared to the sweets at Panera or Starbucks. They also have little White Castle sliders, fries and meal deals for under $5. Also, bacon doughnuts, so yeah. It's hard to just come in for one so I usually end up with at least 1/2 dozen. They do have other pastries that are in a glass case; most of these are on the "size of your face" end of the size spectrum though. I'd recommend this place to anyone that wants to try doughnuts that were inspired by a 5 year old's Halloween candy haul. Come early, come often, there's a lot to try!

  • Lani G.

This place is amazing! You have your regulars that you can get anywhere but they also have crazy concoctions. Sour Patch Kids, Oreos, skittles, etc are all toppings. Plus a maple glazed donut with fresh bacon crumbles on top? Um, hello!? That's fat kid heaven right there!! The best thing is is that if you want a "special" donut, they will make it for you. Chocolate glazed with bacon? Strawberry glazed with coconut? No problem!! Whatever you want. As long as hey can accommodate your request, they will. And the prices are fantastic too.

First of all, I have to admit that I am a Krispy Kreme fanatic. I love their original glazed doughnuts, but I like to try new things, as well. When I discovered Donut King on Yelp a few months ago, I immediately put it on my list as somewhere I had to check out for myself, especially after hearing that they had a red velvet flavor - my favorite kind of cake! It was easy to stay away as it's not really in my neck of the woods, so to speak, but that red velvet doughnut remained on my mind! Today, I finally got to try one! My eyes lite up when I saw it - red velvet with beautiful cream cheese frosting! It didn't disappoint, either. It was moist and delicious. Out of curiosity, I also tried a maple bacon one. While I usually love the sweet & salty combo, I don't think I'd get it again. It wasn't bad, but I didn't love it, either. It just didn't really do anything for me. Other than that, the place was clean, plenty of available seating & the young man at the counter was very friendly. Definitely a place to check out at least once!

I LOVE me some Donut King. I am always raving about them and use them as my standard to judge any other donut I eat, anywhere in the country. This, however, was our first visit to their second location in Winter Park/Orlando. We've been going to the original in Minneola for years so have a soft spot for them. The first location is a dive and the second location isn't much better. This location is in a run down strip center on Howell Branch just east of 436. The employee was friendly enough and there was a steady stream of patrons. There are some drab tables and chairs set up in the plain dining room. Unlike the original this location focuses strictly on donuts. The original serves hot meals from the grill but this one lacks a grill. The only non-donut food they had was some stuff under a heat lamp... no thanks. The donuts appeared to be the same, although there wasn't as much variety in the front case. We were there mid-day so maybe this was why? Still, my son was overjoyed to be able to get his "donut man" and I brought a 1/2 dozen home (I used my self control, finally!). It's tough to express exactly why the original's location's donuts are better... maybe its just that this location they did not seem as fresh. Perhaps there isn't the traffic flow here as in Minneola to keep the supply fresh? Maybe it was a bad day? Or maybe we are biased? Don't get me wrong, even this location blows away Krispy Kreme or any other chain you might find. I still will defend Donut King as the best donuts I've ever eaten, however I will be thinking about the Minneola location when I do so. ;)

Best donuts in Orlando, hands down. I totally consider myself to be a donut snob and this is legit the best you will find around. Ignore the chains and come here to get your glazed donut fix. If you're feeling super adventurous, try their maple bacon donut or my personal favorite, the Nutter Butter donut. Everything is always fresh, the staff is super friendly, and they're always experimenting with new flavors and combinations. Do yourself a favor and make the field trip!

Let's face it...donuts are the most important thing in the universe. Nothing takes your day from a -3 to a 10 quite like a warm, buttery, airy piece of cake that you can eat at 7 am or 7 pm no questions asked. That being said the most wonderful beautiful delicious donuts in orlando reside here at Donut King. If you love donuts (well obviously you love donuts you're reading this) you will feel right at home in Donut King. Big hits you don't wanna miss: my personal fave the candy ring, cinnamon sugar (bonus yum points when you get ones straight out of the oven) and last but not least the strawberry iced. The maple bacon donut is a smidgen over rated but still an experience worth trying.

  • Shawn S.

Yummy cake donuts! Better tasting than Dunkin Donuts. More variety than Krispy Kreme, though Krispy Kreme's glazed donuts are sinful deliciousness. Donut King had five different chocolate flavored donuts that I noticed (double, chocolate-filled, chocolate glazed, peanut, and coconut), one of which they were currently out of (chocolate-filled). Being the chocoholic that I am, the four they did have made up most of my half dozen. I included a glazed donut and a powdered donut that was good as well.

Shhhhh.....I didn't want to yelp this place, because it's allll mine mine mine. Okay, backup. The Donut round, sweet, sticky, sugary, goodness.

  • Heather L.

I am so excited to find a donut place in my neighborhood! My fiance is OBSESSED with donuts (see plan for a donut wedding cake -- they exist!). They have amazing fried pastry donuts --coconut crunch (bonus if they have the ones with creme in the middle) and almond crunch are my favorite! One time they were out of almond crunch and they went back and made a fresh one by dipping in icing and the crunchy stuff -- BEST. The only reason to lose a star? The cake donuts leave something to be desired :(. They're a bit too doughy and heavy on the inside (they should be crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside) which is a shame because we usually prefer cake donuts over the regular kind. But this is definitely a contender for our wedding cake (if anyone knows of other local donut places, let me know!)

  • Jordan O.

Not as good as minneola store. Not open 24 hours so the donuts tasted a little less fresh than the other store. Also, one day we showed up at 8:15, door was open, sign was on, but lady said they closed at 8 and wouldn't serve us a donut. I was crushed by that experience, there were clearly still donuts there right behind her, she did tell us we could go to the minneola store to get donuts, I don't know if she was being helpful or rubbing it in my face that I missed out. I wanted to tell her to shove a donut somewhere, but the donuts are so good it wasn't worth upsetting her or wasting one donut. Will be back regardless of rude server one time and will try the burgers.

So noticeably better that I will never go back to Dunkin' Donuts or Publix Bakery. Fresher, cheaper and more delicious than any other donut on the planet

  • Angela T.

4 stars not because of the quality of the donuts, but because of the service given. It was our first time there and we did make the mistake of getting there a little later in the evening around 5-6 pm. We walked in and asked the girl who was helping us what was good or what she recommended and she told us that "what was good had been sold out long ago..." Listen I don't expect you to give me a rundown of the donuts, but this kind of help, or lack, of is unhelpful and a bit of a turn off. My boyfriend ended up following up with "What would you recommend that's still available then?" Moving on from the rant... My favorite was the maple glazed and the maple glazed bacon hands down! Sweet and salty deliciousness! My second favorite was the nutter butter or something and third was the Bavarian cream filled one with confectionary sugar topping! :)

They literally have any doughnut/pastry you can think of and some you can't. Best doughnuts in Orlando even better than Krispy Kreme and Dunkin doughnuts. They are fresh and literally melt in your mouth. If your on a diet stay away because you can get carried away when picking out your dozen haha

  • Dava P.

The staff was amazing! It was our first time, 5 minutes before they closed & the staff was so patient with us as we picked out a dozen which was so hard considering the vast variety!

6/21/2011 - The date I added Donut King to my Yelp bookmarks. I was always a little concerned if I loved them, I would want to make that drive often. Do you know what's better than driving long distances? Everything. Well, my everything is here. I excitedly read about the opening of this new location while at work, within an hour, I had a message from my wife that she also heard the news, but better yet, that she would be going that afternoon. Soon after, she sends a photo of a large donut box nuzzled safely in her car seat, heading home to await meeting my stomach. Yay! But what did she get? "Spoilers", I told myself, in my best River Song voice. Once home, I looked to see how much damage would be done... Five donuts? That's rubbish! That's madness! That's... OK, so she probably doesn't want me to die. That's fair. There was a glazed original (there were two, but she ate one), two old-fashioned (sour-cream donut), a blueberry cake donut, and something covered with dirt. (it turned out to be Crunch bar) I tried the old-fashioned first, since it's one of my favorite donuts, and that beauty did not disappoint. After one bite, I put it down, wanting to save that treasure for later, so I slaughtered the glazed. The glazed was wonderful, but the old-fashioned was nearly perfect. Sour cream-style donuts are a very different beast, but for fellow fans of them, Donut King's are hard to beat. It turned out to be good the miss only picked up six magic circles, because a lack of self-control would have meant punishment for my stomach later. Oh-She very much enjoyed her blueberry and dirt donut, but this is my review, not hers! The next morning, I decided to pick up donuts for the office. Of course, I just wanted more, but that made me feel a little better about myself. When I arrived, I drooled over the cases, all jam packed with a huge variety of goodies. For my dozen I only chose a few kinds, so people at the office did not have pitch forks out at each other fighting over donuts. I admit, the temptation was there to watch as my office devolved into the Thunderdome, with fights over different flavors. "Us suffer bad. Want donuts. We want Thunderdome!" To fill out my dozen, I did a mix of glazed, old-fashioned, red velvet, and red velvet with cream-cheese icing. The red velvet donuts were especially awesome. The selection was overwhelming, with common options like plain or chocolate frosted to unique candy covered treats (like Nerds). Since I'm only human, I ordered a 13th donut to eat on the way to work. It was a Butterfinger, which is a plain donut covered with your choice of vanilla or chocolate icing, and then covered with... You guessed it, bits and pieces of butter and fingers. Or crumbled up butter finger. Whichever. I went with the vanilla icing (sorry chocolate) and it was heavenly. The front case was full of a huge assortment of specialty donuts, too big and special to be part of the dozen box. Apple fritters, long johns, eclairs, pull aparts, and a glazed donut nearly the size of a human head. The head donut is quite intimidating. As expected, the donuts were a total hit at the office, and comments of jealousy ensued because I lived so close. I considered waiting until I tried the Castle burgers before posting my review, but I'll be honest... They could end up tasting like turds between buns and I would still give The Donut King 5 stars. It's a donut shop, so as long as the service is great and the donuts kick-ass, anything else on their menu is an afterthought. The next morning, I was there again. I had a hot glazed donut and a maple bacon. The bacon is a dollar up-charge, and worth it as an occasional treat. The hot donut though... Unlike others I've had, it retains its pillowy feel even while hot. This meant it wasn't dissolving into sugar while while biting, which was a pro for me, as it meant more savoring. They are currently open from 5am-8pm, 7 days a week, but down the line are planning on 24 hours like the other location. It's a small storefront and can get quite busy, so much so that twice I've arrived and left without opening the door because there were too many people inside. While the line has the potential to move fast, newcomers are so in awe that they lollygag, wanting each donut described in colorful detail. If that's you, and there is a line, please step aside to let others go while you continue your internal struggle. I have learned if you're strategic about your times, you can pretty much avoid lines. Super early and just before closing both yield excellent results. Earlier is better (before 8am), since they are less likely to be out of what you want, plus early is when you're able to get the hot glazed donuts, which you need to do at least once. While I'm not thrilled with the idea of them being crazy-busy, I love that they'll be open 24-hours for all of my donutting needs.

Mmm, donuts. ::DROOL:: Yanno, I use to shake my fist in the air because I always wondered why there were never any delicious local donut shops in Orlando. Well, praise the donut gods because Donut King opened up around the corner! WOO! The donuts were so good that I made sure that my visiting out of towners tried at least 3 different types of donuts before they left Orlando. So, this location is super cozy! You walk in, wait your turn, then order your desired donuts. No matter what time I've gone; there's always a line of some sort. I guess that can be a testament to how much the donuts are worth to the community? The donuts were labeled so you can easily identify the different varieties. Even if there weren't a label, then the store associate will easily tell you which is which. Oh, that reminds me; staff members here are really helpful and patient! I was super impressed by their efficiency and personable service with each customer. The donuts here are soft and chewy with the perfect amount of sweetness. Flavors to check out are: red velvet, maple glazed, and strawberry. Actually, all the donuts are really delicious, but you can't try all the flavors. Or can you??? It's okay, I won't judge. Oh, I never had an apple fritter before until I bought one from here. It was total awesomeness! Especially considering the fritter I bought just came fresh out of the kitchen. The fritter was chock full of apples and extremely huge. It's seriously big enough for 4 servings. Make note and add one to your dozen of donuts. YUM!

Woke up to a box of a myriad of flavors waiting for me in the kitchen! Inside the box were maple bacon, blueberry, double chocolate, red velvet, and guava/cream cheese. I'm not a huge fan of red velvet but this cake donut was better than all other red velvet cakes, cupcakes, ice cream etc I've ever had before. Was stoked to find a variety of my favorite donut flavors and was happy that these donuts did not disappoint in flavor and texture. Finally found a donut place in Orlando!

Finally an Orlando location! Only difference on this location compared to the Minneola location is the lunch and breakfast options! The only non bakery option on this location are the "white castle burgers and fries". This location is on a shopping plaza next door to Rainbow Sno Cones! I opted for what I was craving for - Custard Filled Donut Holes! 25 pcs are $3.99 OR 50 pcs for $5.99 They also offer gourmet donuts such as Maple Bacon, Grasshopper, Oreo, Red Velvet Cake, Guava filled, Lemon Filled, HUGE APPLE FRITTERS AND OTHER HUGE DONUTS for less than $3! Most donuts are 94 cents and the maple bacon is almost $2 its a 99 cent upcharge I guess due to the "bacon topping". Once you try their donuts the test franchise donut shops are garbage and yes that includes Krispy Kreme! Their donuts are soft and light and freshly made! I was a regular customer at the Minneola location when I used to work around the area and so were my colleagues there! They only buy donuts from Donut King! I will return and try the Gourmet donuts next time around - For now I will be enjoying these Custard Filled Donut Holes!

Geez Pete I love this place!!!! When I found out that they opened a location here and no longer had to drive out to Minneola to get these babies (which is totally worth it btw) I literally did cartwheels and ran around like a crazy person!! Donut King is not your ordinary donut shop; just look at the pictures and you'll realize why. As soon as I found out that they had opened on Howell Branch, mom and I drove out at night to pick up a late snack. I got confused however about the closing time and when we got there they were already closing. One of the workers opened the door, (a really nice guy btw) and gave me the heartbreaking news that they had just closed. I told him we had driven out specifically to try their tasty donuts because I was such a huge fan, and he stood there as if contemplating something and said to me: "Wait right here." He came back and handed me a box of donuts and said: "I was going to take them home but you drove all the way out here so you take them on the house". Wow, talk about customer service!! You better believe I'll be back not only because the donuts are varied in styles/flavors but they're incredibly delicious, and they have a wonderful staff. He didn't have to do that, he could have just told me to come back during open hours and bid me a good night, but he didn't, wow, it was just so unexpected. Definitely check it out, even if it is a bit of a drive; you wont regret it!

This blows any donut chain out of the park. Seriously. It breaks my inner child's donut-loving heart not to give this place 5 stars...it's like 4.5. Minor areas of improvement: the TV monitors/menus were off or not working. As a result, we couldn't easily see the types of donuts easily. The space is so small that there isn't much room for a line to form or for very many tables. Aside from this...the donuts are all made right there. It smells amazing when you walk in. So many unique and traditional styles to choose from. We bought a dozen to take home, asking to get a mix of the most popular flavors. The maple bacon was really great! Service was excellent. Excited that it's so close to my house! Definitely coming back. And bringing friends. :) yum.

Dear Donut King, I'm afraid we are going to have to break up. You are extra sweet and I love you but enough is enough. I just want you to know it's me, it's not you. I know you don't care how big my butt gets, but I really can't afford bigger pants again. You have always been there for me when I was sad, hurt, or craving a sugar high, but it is time for us to part ways. Please do not try and tempt me with your red velvety cake goodness. You are no longer the icing on my cruller. I will never forget you my sweet Donut King. I will always love you.

If I could post just a picture of Homer Simpson drooling over donuts, I would. That's my review.

Great fresh donuts in a multitude of varieties. Beats all the chain donut stores by far. If you're not in the area, it's worth the drive to check out. If you're in the area, you have no excuse for skipping this place.

I've heard about the Minneola location for years and when I got word that they were opening a Winter Park location, I knew I had to make a visit. Especially after seeing all the social media photos after opening. I found out they are open 7 days a week from 5am - 8pm. On a whim, we visited on a late Sunday afternoon. It's located in a small plaza on Howell Branch Road among a mish mash of businesses . It's a rather simple and no fuss shop. Don't expect the bells and whistles. When you walk in , to your right is the wall and cases of heavenly goodness. Along the wall are trays and trays of doughnuts. There were several trays that were sold out but still plenty to choose from. The items in the cases cost a little more and consisted of elaborate pastries, bearclaws, you name it! We decided to go with a dz of the doughnuts ($7+/dz, $5+/half dz) and started throwing out names and the cashier started filling our box. Before you know it, our box was filled. They also have a little fridge with drinks for purchase like strawberry and chocolate milk. I didn't think to ask if they sell hot coffee but I'm thinking no since they sell bottled Starbucks iced coffee. Will double check for next time. They have a small area to sit and enjoy your goodies but we decided to get ours to go. The girl working was super friendly and made a point to let us know that the owners are looking into getting more equipment in the location so they could offer more items such as breakfast sandwiches. She also mentioned that they haven't had their official grand opening yet but couldn't tell me when it would be since she didn't know. Now...to the doughnuts.....got home and had a few bites of several. I tried the Heath Bar, strawberry frosted and the maple doughnuts. All pretty tasty and I loved how fluffy the doughnuts were. These aren't mini doughnuts. They've got "ummph" to them! My favorite was the red velvet by far. Mouthwatering good. I would get a 1/2 dozen of those alone. I am just glad they are somewhat close to visit but not close enough to visit regularly. Do yourself a favor , visit this local gem and check it off your Orlando foodie bucket list!

Heaven's branch office. Almost as good as the original in Minneola, but way more convenient to Orlandoans. I highly recommend everything. But especially the vanilla iced sprinkles donut. My husband also loved the sour patch kids donut--sounds gross, but was actually quite delicious. My only complaint is that the store was running really low on variety as they were clearly out of about 30% of the types of donuts. I understand that for shops that keep normal bakery hours, they aren't' going to bake a fresh array of donuts for the afternoon crowd, but being open 24/7, you would assume they would keep a consistent supply of variety all day.

So many donuts, so little room in my stomach. I have never been more impressed by the sheer volume of choices that are given at Donut King. Healthy eaters be warned, this place will test your resolve to the breaking point. My personal favorite is the Chocolate/Vanilla marble cream filled. For $5.00, their lunch special is hard to beat. 3 slider burgers, a side of french fries, a donut of your choice and a medium drink makes for one heck of a great deal. The staff is always friendly and willing to help.

Just like the original Donut King, this place serves up the best donuts in town. Fresh, amazing, donuts with a huge variety to choose from. I have heard they are serving up cronuts here as we'll, but that is not a daily thing. We stopped in about 30 minutes before they closed, and the donut variety was still large, and everything tasted delicious. One minor difference I noticed here is that they are not 24 hours like the other location, and this do it have donuts being constantly made. They will do hot glazed for you though, bit it will have to be in the morning hours. Even with our late arrival, people were still coming in at a steady stream. This alone should tell you that you need to make these donuts a priority in your life. Blow off the New Year's resolution, and start your year out right with some Donut King donuts.

My husband forced me to go on a donut outing this morning and it was soooo worth it. Donuts are not fried and selection is amazing. There was a line in a lonely strip mall if that tells you anything! Check it out.

I've been wanting some good quality donuts since working here in Orlando and I think I've found my spot. Quite the unassuming little location, but as soon as I saw the fresh donuts being put on display, I knew this was going to be good. I got a half dozen, a cinnamon roll, and a breakfast sandwich I wouldn't waste your time/money on the breakfast sandwiches. I just got egg and ham on wheat toast and it was definitely something I could have made at home. But the donuts.... The sour cream was absolutely delicious. The glaze on all 4 of the cake variations was generous, giving them all that nice "crunch" you want. I also got a coconut crunch and an almond crunch raises donut per the cashiers recommendation, and they were also delicious. Very fresh, very tasty. The cinnamon roll was HUGE as well as the rest of their pecan rolls/pine cones/ specialties. Be ready for a lot of dough! But it was all so worth it and he prices were very reasonable. I only reason I gave this 4 stars was the breakfast sandwich, in all honesty. I wish he location was a bit nicer as well, it would be nice to see the place have its own building, with some modernization. But all in all, a very nice experience, and the donuts were all worth the drive up to Winter Park from Bithlo.

Just thinking about this place is dangerous for me. There's nothing in the world that gets me more excited about eating than Doughnuts. Having a bad day? Get some doughnuts. And NO WHERE in town is a better place to do that than Donut King. I (un)luckily changed jobs and do not drive past this every day anymore.. but sometimes I just can't take it and have to get one of the soft, puffy, sweet, delicious treats.. okay maybe a dozen.

Saw that Donut King was in Winter Park and decided to stop and get donuts of the office, They enjoyed them all. The line was not to long but by the time I left it was crowded. There are so many favors to choose from and the specialty are huge. Will definitely be back for another office round.

I am SO glad this place isn't closer to me. I mean, seriously, I would actually consume donuts regularly. I mean, it isn't far, but far enough that it's out of my way and definitely not in my little "bubble area." Whatever, ya'll don't care about that part. That's cool. Donut King has their original location nowhere nearby. And now they have a Winter Park location (but by Winter Park, I really mean Seminole County Winter Park/neighboring Casselberry). It's in a small strip mall on Howell Branch Rd next to a 7-11. Basically, it's really unassuming. I walked in and the smell was amazing. I don't crave donuts, I got months (potentially even years) without eating them. I'm not a huge fan of DD or KK, and those are my closest options for donuts. This place though...I could eat their donuts all day, every day. I got 3: red velvet (om nom nom goooood!), vanilla with sprinkles (which tasted perfect after a night in the fridge), and chocolate with sprinkles (I didn't eat that one, but I assume it was amazing. I gave it to my boyfriend). The donuts weren't overly sweet, the icing wasn't overwhelming, and best of all...they weren't heavy, but they actually filled me up (granted, I had my vanilla with sprinkles with a side of bacon and scrambled eggs, but still, the donut was filling). They have a LOT of flavor options. I saw pumpkin spice, M&M, chocolate, and maple bacon, just to name a few. They also have huge donuts; like the size of my face big. And donuts shaped like people. There were options for everyone. I would go here regularly if it were closer to an area I'm in regularly. The donuts weren't expensive (got the 3 donuts for less than $3), the place smells great, and they have so many different things to try.

Best tasting donuts in orlando! Hands down! If you are looking for genuine, inexpensive donuts with AMAZING FLAVORS and options, this is your place! A half dozen is around $5, a dozen $7. If you have never been, you MUST try!

Ya'll this place is the jam! Don't expect much to look at, but get ready for a delicious, fresh donut! I never did make it to their original spot in Minneola so I am very happy they moved into Winter Park (more so Maitland if you asked me where it was located). When you arrive, it's an unassuming spot in a strip retail spot. We went on a weekend and it was packed. Not much room inside to sit down and enjoy, especially when there is a large line snaking inside. However, we grabbed ours to go this AM. They have regular coffee and also Starbucks products in the fridge so that was convenient. Also, the staff was so very friendly and I appreciated that even though they were packed and the line was a bit long. I was overwhelmed by the different types of donuts and the SIZE of some of them. They were unbelievable. I was drooling and making "ooooh"ing and "ahhhhhh"ing sounds along with all the other kids in line. It was so exciting. Kinda like waiting to ride dumbo or something. The anticipation was fun! Now, I am not a huge donut fan, I rarely crave them and could probably live without them. However, every now and then I like to go nuts and indulge. I grabbed two this time around I went for basic ones: Coconut and Bavarian Cream: both were light and delicious! I definitely licked my fingers after both. However, next time, I am going to go nuts.. maybe even the nerd topped one. Yes, the candy! I definitely need to try the strawberry and chocolate chip one as well. Do they have a flavor punch card? That would be cool to travel through the flavors. Highly suggest supporting local as these are fabulous donuts!

Delicious fresh made donuts. Way better than Krispy creme dunkin donuts etc. It's about 7.60 for a dozen.

This place has seriously good donuts. I have't had anything else on the menu, just donuts. I'm not sure if I am happy that they have a new location so close to me. The goods are way better than Dunkin Donuts and Krispy Kreme. I need to stop writing this review because now I want to go get donuts. Which I DO NOT NEED. Ugh... why are they so tasty?

First discovered this local donut shop years ago at their Clermont location. I was incredibly excited when I saw them pop up only a few minutes from home! This place is delightful. Everything is fresh and delicious. The donuts don't taste fake like the chain stores do. I love the sour cream and the cinnamon sugar cake. Husband loves the Boston creme and the peanut with chocolate frosting. Hands down the best donuts in Orlando! :)

These donuts are amazingly amazing! I have not had one donut that I didn't like. They have a variety of flavors and there prices are great! I had no idea this place was so close to me until I happened to drive by it one day and that's a problem (a good one) if you ask me! If you're looking for a new donut place I promise this place won't disappoint!

Bacon, maple donut, YES PLEASE! Curiosity got the best of me and I had to try one. Absolutely the perfect balance of sweet, smoky paradise. Tier upon tier of other offerings and breakfast sandwiches as well. Worth a visit and a trip to the gym afterwards.

As a life long donut aficionado, this place is simply godly. Come during breakfast time and the line will be out the door and you will without a doubt realize why after your first bite. Have a sweet tooth in the Orlando area? Look no further.

LOVE LOVE LOVE their glazed donuts! And they have a great variety of donuts to choose from. The only one I've tried and been a wee bit disappointed by was the Boston Cream- it wasn't my favorite. But most I've tried have been fabulous. The half and half is my favorite!

We had heard lots of people say Doughnut King has great doughnuts so we wanted to give them a try. It was a little out of the way but worth the drive. Doughnut King has a huge selection of doughnuts and pastries all looked wonderful. We went with a dozen assorted doughnuts and they were delicious.

What can I say about this place that hasn't already been said? They have wonderful donuts. We usually buy a dozen every Sunday morning when my dad comes for his weekly visit. In a little known obscure shopping plaza where most things don't survive, this shop is packed to the rafters on weekend mornings with true donut fanatics clamoring for their sweets. Their presence in this strip mall has actually boosted the sales of every other shop owner leasing adjacent suites. They make so many wonderful signature and specialty donuts that I couldn't quantify them all. The coconut cream pie donut is just sinfully good. We also get a special donut pastry from the glass case we call the Samoa (like the Girl Scout cookies). It has toasted coconut drizzled with chocolate and caramel all on top of a wonderfully glazed rope donut. My mouth is watering just describing the donuts. I love the powdered jelly donuts. The jelly is very flavorful and they didn't skimp on it either. It literally bursts from the donut the second you bite into it. They also have donuts I'm just not brave enough to try like the Sour Patch Kids donut and the maple bacon donut. Also, if you ask they can give you hot glazed donuts in the morning, and if you don't see the donut you're looking for, they can sometimes make you a custom donut on the spot. The best part? They make them right there in the store! No more traveling to the closest chain donut shop and eating their flash frozen, truck delivered atrocities. We actually have a real, honest to goodness mom and pop donut store that makes donuts the likes of which I haven't seen since I left New Orleans. If you're in the vicinity some time (or even if you're not), you should definitely try this place out. If you love donuts, you will love this place!

I'm sorry I found this place. The call of tasty, doughy, sweetgasm goodness will be calling to me in all of my waking and slumbering hours. I'm not sure an extended review is necessary. You know what a doughnut is, now go get some of the tastiest doughnuts allowed by law. I'm just glad that I don't live right down the street from this establishment any longer. Best. Doughnuts. Ever.

Heaven!!!! Speechless from how amazing and fluffy each donut was! You can taste how fresh they are! My fav was the almond! I'll recommend to everyone to try! Great treat and cheap! You pay the same for the commercial stuff and this is a million times better!!!!

Who would want to be the chief of donuts when you can be Donut King!?! Baked fresh daily, right in my neighborhood, I gladly welcomed Donut King to the hood. I mean, who wouldn't with the selections they have at hand? You have all of the varieties ranging from cake, or raised, to glazed, iced, powdered, jelly filled, custard filled, or topped with your favorite candy. Cute little donut holes are available if you'd like to trick yourself into eating healthier, portion controlled options, because really, who can discipline themselves to stop at 1 or 2. There's the traditional donut size, donut logs, or a donut KING. Glad they're in my neck of the woods, and if you're not in this area, the trek out here is definitely worth it. Cheers!

The best donuts in town!! So glad they finally opened a store in our area. There's so many delicious flavors to choose from and they're so so fresh and moist. Flavors that we tried and loved included the red velvet with cream cheese frosting, grasshopper with junior mints, nerds, Oreo, strawberry, crunchy coconut, and cream filled with chocolate icing. The staff was very nice, too!

Piggies Rejoice! This place is Donut Heaven! LOVE! A delicious original break from the Dunkin & Krispy donuts. Dozens of creative donut choices and they not only look good but taste delicious too. The pastries are the size of your head & super sweet. Worth trying at least once.

I operate a concierge computer repair business and whenever I am delivering or picking up a job, I always make sure to bring promotional materials (see: food). Donut King is the premier donut shop of Orlando, dunno why it took as long as it did to get a proper donut shop close to home that wasn't a krispy kreme (gag) Long story short, my customer and her coworkers went crazy for these donuts and I will definitely be coming here again. Thank you, Donut King.

Great donuts but service is not good. Counting the tip jar while customers wait at the counter? Don't have a call ahead order either, even though you have it written down. Make no mistake though, hands down the best food but... Then the order was complete, way after how long they said then just set them on the counter, gave a fake apology and then walked away. I think the whole staff needs customer service lessons.

We had to finally go check Donut King out after hearing so many good things about it. A group of six visited the Winter Park location on a Saturday night. The smell of donuts overwhelms you walking in - it smells like heaven! The variety of donuts is also unbelievable. I tried the coconut crunch and apple filled donuts (I ate the apple the next day) and they were both excellent. The husband had nutter butter and butterfinger and said that he liked nutter butter better (try saying that five times fast). We grabbed a table in the shop to enjoy our donuts. The chairs reminded me of plastic school chairs, but they did the job. We left just before 8pm (closing time) but I hear the Clermont location is open 24 hours. The prices seemed reasonable to me for the quality and variety. I spent about $7 for a dozen. We try to stay way from grains, but this place is somewhere we would definitely feel like it was worth breaking our eating habits!

Have been back many times since first review. They deserve five stars at this point. We did try a castle burger taste just like crystals and white castle. A long time ago I stopped eating those because they taste pretty bad, like school made steamed burger. This is the same I would not get again.

I found out about this place when I saw someone review it on Yelp. A day later I was in the area and had to make a stop. Wow, are there a lot of choices: oreo, butterfinger, strawberry, powdered with apple filling, powdered with boston cream filling, maple, candy sprinkled, nerds sprinkled, red velvet, blueberry, coconut, grasshopper (chocolate mint), and on and on and on! The most popular based on what people were buying while I was there seemed to be the maple bacon. I followed suit and ordered one myself and all I can say is it was "OMG good!!!" It had the absolute best sweet to salty ratio, and they don't skimp on the bacon. The donuts were fresh when I went, during mid afternoon, and they seem to have a steady flow of customers to where turnover of donuts is probably high thus ensuring freshness. The staff was really friendly and helped people make their donut decisions (because it really is that hard). It's a pretty small establishment; it's clean and has a few tables to sit and eat. Hands down best donuts around.

Everything we expected from reading the other reviews! The maple bacon was awesome! We have three of the pink and orange places within a mile of our house but I will drive the 5 miles out of my way to buy these donuts!

One of our friends told us to come here and try their donuts... Well, they were mediocre at best. Didn't taste fresh. The icing kinda grossed me out. I will not be coming back!

  • Aimee B.

Excellent! Fresh, a good variety of flavors. These are the hugest donuts I have ever seen. We paid 96 cents for one chocolate glazed donut. It had just the right amount of sugar. This place is nothing fancy but oh my what a treat. They also make burgers but didn't order one or see one so can't comment on it.

Ok so...I admit, I am a donut snob. I REALLY only love Krispy Kreme. Dunkin is just a fall back when Krispy Kreme is not available. My husband and I decided to pick up a couple dozen from Donut King for father's day based upon all of the positive reviews and since our families live close by its location. I first had a glazed because of course I had to compare to my beloved Krispy Kreme and although it was very good and even a bit fluffier than KK, it just didn't quite hit the spot that a nice, warm KK donut does (for me at least). But I would definitely eat them again, any day over Dunkin. Then I ventured to my second fave flave...powdered jelly donut. This is the best jelly donut I done e'er had. YUMMM. It's so worth it. The donut was fluffy and soft, the jelly was sweet and smooth, the confectioners sugar wasn't falling all over the place making a mess-everything was doing exactly what it needed to do- satisfy my tastebuds. We will be coming back to Donut King for sure when we are on that side of town. Good job Donut King!

  • S T.

While I haven't physically been to the store, people keep bringing donuts from this place to my work, and they are made of angel wings and fluffy unicorn tails. I thought for a second I died and went to heaven after I ate the maple bacon donut the first time, but then I realized I was still at work.

Note: Two weeks ago 1/6/15 the girl working in front was completely spaced out and the service was miserable. The electronic menu board was down and she didn't know how to fix it. The donuts were incredible. It took them a while to get the kinks out but the donuts are as good as the other place and as good a donut as you will find anywhere. They don't appear to know what they are doing in regard to the sliders. The Mineola spot promotes the burgers and has burger menus and you get a feel they value and take pride in serving them. At this spot they look at you funny when you order them and you wouldn't know they had them unless you came in looking for them. They took forever and the NO MUSTARD request was too much to grasp because after 15 minutes of waiting the overwhelming task of making six sliders with no mustard was ah, overwhelming. The lack of delivery and promotion of the sliders is clearly a management / personnel problem, which I hope gets fixed with some assistance from the Mineola store, because when they are on they are as good as it gets. The fries are terrible as they are in Krystal or White Castle so the opportunity to get good fries with good sliders is lost here.

  • Jennifer C.

I had heard of the other location and that it was great. I was hoping the new Winter Park location would be too. It was GREAT! We had tried many different ones and they were all good. Some of our favorites were of course the red velvet and Heath bar crunch. If you were to ask my husband he would say his favorite ones are ALL of them! They were all so fresh tasting. This is the place for donuts! The line might look long when you pull up but it moves pretty fast. Pricing is good too. Now that I have been here I don't think I will ever go to DD again! It's worth the extra 15 minute drive for us!

So good...maple bacon, just ask! Apple fritters, oh my! I'm so happy it's right around the corner from my house, My doctor is furious! Oh moderation where are you? No one can eat one donut, especially these. Welcome to the neighborhood DK!
